A Festival of Islamic Cultural Competitions
(Organized by JSS International School, JVC, Dubai)
JSS International School, Dubai organized an inter school Islamic festival on 2nd February, 2020. Around 550 students from 42 different schools from all over UAE participated in this festival. Different competitions like Quran recitation, Islamic speech, Nasheed and Islamic projects and model display were organized.
The inauguration programme was held in the school auditorium at 9 a.m. A renowned Islamic scholar, Shaikh Mufti Tauqeer was the chief guest of the programme. The programme started with recitation of the Holy Quran by Master Mutahar Shareef, of grade 12, JSSIS. Our school Principal Mrs Lata Nakra, delivered the welcome speech. This was followed by the twenty eight judges being honored by the chief guest. After the chief guest’s address, students went to the different venues according to their events.
The students performed very well in all the competitions and the judges had a tough time in deciding the winners. After the competition, prizes and certificates were awarded. Around 550 students participated, along with 40 non-Muslim children. Total 60 prizes were given to the participants from the 30 schools and one rolling trophy was awarded. Certificate of participation was presented to each and every student participant. The coveted rolling trophy was bagged by New Indian Model School, Dubai
This festival has helped nurture the unending charm of Islamic culture and tradition. These competitions help spread the Islamic values and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) among the students and the community and create interest and love towards Islamic Education.
