JSS' rising track star Prithika


JSS International school, Dubai,Could not have asked for anything better after Prithika bagged track gold at the ASISC National Games in India

Representing the UAE in a strong field in Hyderabad, the 16-year-old was unfazed by the occassion and ran a superb race to top the 200m final in 27.9 seconds.

The feat meant it was the first ever gold for the U.A>E and school in this competition, and the newly crowned champion hopes she can achieve even more success in future.

This was tough as all the athletes were strong,some who competed nationally,"said thebudding atlete who also finished fourth in the 100m.

"The preliminary tests were intense but winning a medal required a lot of mental strength,perspiration and specialised training,and my hard work paid off.

I have been training for a long time with my athletics coach Boban Chacko, whose advanced training methods were the only reason I could make it this far. My next  goal is to run on the international stage".
